Many struggling working families in our community do not obtain money they are eligible for through income tax support because they are not aware of the benefits. A part of the United Way of Tarrant County's "Earn Well" Financial Stability Initiative includes reaching out to more families making them aware of our free volunteer income tax help, as well as job skills and financial education classes.  We need YOUR help to get the word out to these families on the community-wide "Day of Action" December 3rd, 2011. 

Volunteers are needed to hang door hangers in select low-income zip codes on Saturday, December 3^rd, 2011 from 8:30am- 11am.

It's easy:  Register here as a group or individual, pick up your t-shirt, door hanger bag and your assigned zone / group the morning of December 3rd at United Way: 1500 N. Main St. Fort Worth. Head out and help families get on the road to financial stability by spreading the word about the resources available to them.

• Last year over 2,800 free tax returns were completed for low-income working families through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, resulting in over $5,000,000 of total returns and earned income tax credits

•  United Way of Tarrant County's goal this year: 4,800 tax returns prepared and $3.1 million going back to struggling working families and our community.
